Learn English & explore the UNESCO Heritage city of Bath surrounded by stunning architecture and historical wonders, Bath is a great student city, and was recently named one of the safest in the UK!

We are very happy that for 2023 we can offer our most popular Junior Summer School once again, giving students freedom of choice with learning specialist academic skills in our city programme in Bath, or choosing a more activity-focused programme at Milton Abbey.

Both programmes provide balance to learning English with fun activities outside the classroom.

Bath Academy Junior Summer School 2023

Our most popular summer programme for juniors full of fun activities and excursions in and around the beautiful city of Bath. Explore your academic potential and have summer fun in the city!

BATH COURSE DETAILS:

  • Age 12 – 16 (17 year olds are accepted and may join the adult classes combined with the junior social programme)
  • Maximum 13 students per class
  • Placement test on arrival
  • Individuals and groups welcome
  • All levels from beginner to advanced
  • Academic Skills option – for students with a higher level of English who want to learn valuable communication and life skills to help build their confidence and overall personal development
  • One full-day and one half-day excursion each week
  • Action-packed afternoon sports and activities programme
  • Full-board catering and accommodation with homestay families or our central city boarding house (depending on availability)

What is the admissions process?

Contact Bath Academy with your questions and a member of staff will help you. You will also be asked to complete an Application Form.

How many students enrol at Bath Academy each year?

Between 60 and 120 throughout the summer period with a varied nationality mix and students from all around the world.

What is the accommodation like?

In Bath, we offer both homestay and residential accommodation. In Milton Abbey, students have a British boarding school experience with on-site full-board accommodation with a varied choice of 3 hot meals per day served in the 15th century dining hall.

Is there an age limit for your courses?

For Bath Junior Summer School ages are 12 – 17, for Milton Abbey Junior Summer School ages are 9 – 16.

What measures have Bath Academy taken to ensure my child remains safe at the college?

Bath Academy has adopted the Boarding Schools’ Association ‘Covid Safe Charter.’ The Charter confirms that we will comply with all government guidance and rules as well as the additional requirements of the Charter with regard to student safety and welfare. In addition, we ensure:

  • An extremely safe campus with security at all times
  • Excellent student to staff ratio (average 1:10)
  • All staff are DBS-checked and trained in welfare and safeguarding issues
  • Regular meetings with group leaders to ensure safety of students

What are some of the unique features of Bath Academy?

We are centrally located in the heart of Bath in a friendly, flexible college environment where all students are supported to achieve their academic and English-learning goals. International students get to experience first-hand what learning at an academic college is like which is a great foundation for further learning. With historical attractions on our doorstep, and surrounded by so much countryside, we are able to offer our students a variety of excursions around Bath and the beautiful south-west of England.
